90 years ago, Danish carpenter’s Ole Kirk Kristiansen had the idea of producing small wooden toys. Today, the colourful LEGO bricks are indispensable from any child’s room.
In 1958, Kristiansen’s son patented the now known LEGO brick with the plug-in system. The name is composed of the Danish words Leg Godt (play well), and you can definitely play well with it. Almost any object can be recreated from LEGO bricks: landscapes, figures, buildings and much more, there are no limits to creativity.
Creative building can also be combined with the Vienna Ferris Wheel. Therefore, the Austrian Post and the LEGO Group agreed to honour the Viennese landmark with a special brand in LEGO design, especially since it is also birthday this year (the 125th!) celebrates.
