Tender Leaf Toys Rainbow Birthday Cake
The rainbow birthday cake is composed of 6 slices of wooden cakes topped with 6 candles and a strawberry centrepiece. Each cake slice is held together with Velcro. Each candle is removable and they all have a small felt flame for added reality! There is a red-handled wooden cutter which can be used to slice open the cake and discover the colourful rainbow layers on each cake slices.
This is a gender neutral classic wooden toy, made from high quality plywood and sustainable rubber wood, all the pieces and stacking parts have been coloured with a soft non-toxic water stain allowing the beauty of the natural wood to show through, whilst giving the pieces a soft tactile quality.

The added velcro adds a bit of friction to pull the pieces apart and learning to pull and reassemble are all important sensory motor skills and encourage cognitive development.

Design and Craftsmanship
We use top-quality reclaimed wood in Tender Leaf Toys. It is solid, smooth to the touch and looks lovely, which is why we let the natural wood grain show through in so many of our designs. From raw timber to finished product, every stage in the creation of our toys happens in the same family-run factory. When each toy has been hand-painted, assembled and checked, it is wrapped in paper and packed in recycled cardboard – we are close to eliminating all single-use plastic in our packaging.

Tender Leaf Toys are hand-made by skilled men and women who care as much as we do about making finely crafted wooden toys. Our family-run factory operates with high standards of training, wellbeing and respect and provides dependable employment for hundreds of local villagers. During our visits we work together, eat together and make gorgeous toys together.
We replant trees
We are deeply committed to protecting Indonesia’s natural resources and only work with reclaimed rubber wood, a by-product of the latex industry. In addition, for every reclaimed tree it uses, we plant a new one, driving ahead the cycle of regeneration. Tender Leaf Toys have been awarded the ICTI Ethical Toy Program seal of approval for their ethical and sustainable supply chain.
